December is upon us and the Christmas vibes are real. And when I think Christmas, I think Winter. Therefore I am going to share with you, the top 5 books I want to read this winter. Now, first I would like to give a quick disclaimer. Due to the fact that I have put myself on a book buying ban, I will only mention books that are already on my shelf. Now let’s get into the books!
My True Love Gave To Me Christmas anthology edited by Stephanie Perkins
This book filled with Christmas-themed short stories has been laying on my shelf for two years now. And during both the Christmases that have passed since I acquired this book, I have tried and failed to finish it. But I have a feeling that this year is gonna be the year! I hope it will add something to the Christmas experience.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K. Rowling
DON’T WORRY! I have read this book before! Due to the amount of unread books I have on my shelves, I rarely let myself re-read books. But this winter I want to start off my Harry Potter Series re-read by delving back into the first installment. And what better book to read during the cold season than Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone?
Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas
Winter is the perfect time of the year to read an epic fantasy story. The fourth installment in the Throne of Glass series has been collecting dust on my shelf ever since it came out in September of last year. And I think it’s time to dust it off and continue reading it. I really want to get back into the Throne of Glass world!
Mr. Penumbra’s 24 Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan
I suspect you will see a trend in this list. Most of these books are ones that I’ve started but never finished. I got halfway through this particular book before putting it down two years ago. And not because I didn’t like the story, I really enjoyed the mystery aspect and the setting. But school was incredibly busy at the time (isn’t that always the case) and I couldn’t sit down and finish reading the book. So this winter I will give it another shot.
Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom
And to finish off the list, a nice non-fiction book about life. I read Mitch Albom’s ‘The Five People You Meet in Heaven’ a while ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. So I’m hoping that his breakthrough book will be just as good.
Lots of Love,
Lotte

I just ordered the first Harry Potter book! I *never* reread, too many good boks out there- but I have really been wanting to do a Harry Potter re read, too. Good luck with your TBR!
I know what you mean, there are so many books that it feels wrong to read something you’ve already read. Harry Potter is amazing though! Hope you enjoy the re-read! And thanks 🙂
Yay, Harry Potter rereads are the best! I want to read a lot of sci-fi and fairytale books this winter. The only one I’m certain of to read is Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi. I feel like contemporary reads are more suiting to read in summer? Idk… hahahah
Let me know what you think of Furthermore once you’ve read it! And I know what you mean, contemporary just feels very summer-y, I much prefer fantasy, sci-fi and non-fiction in winter 🙂
