Hey guys! So as you may or may not know, the Booktube-a-Thon is upon us. Now I am obviously not a booktuber, but I thought it would still be fun to participate. This will be the first time I take part in a read-a-thon so i’m not sure how it’s gonna go, let’s just hope I manage to read a decent amount. In this post I will be sharing the books I am planning to read in order to complete the challenges. The Booktube-a-Thon takes place from July 24th – July 30th. Without further ado, here is my TBR.
I have chosen to read the book Eligible for the challenge Read a book with a person on the cover. I bought at the same time as I bought it for Doreth’s birthday. That way we would be able to read it together. But somehow we never actually manage to buddy-read the books we plan to read together, so I’ll be reading it during the week and hope Doreth and I finish around the same time…
Because I am not the fastest reader, I will be combining some challenges. I have picked the book Three Dark Crown for both Read a hyped book & Read a book that you bought because of the cover. This book was so incredibly hyped upon release and that is one of the reasons that I bought it, but the other reason that I picked it up was because of the cool cover. There are three different covers for this book each corresponding with one of the main characters (I chose the red cover) which I think is a really cool idea!
Then another combined one! I picked the book And Still I Rise for the challenges Finish a book in one day & Finish a book completely outdoors. Like I said, I am not a very fast reader so it’s just not realistic for me to read a 400-page book in one day. Therefore I picked this poetry collection by Maya Angelou. I think it will be a quick read, so I’ll also be able to finish it outdoors (I’m not a very outdoorsy reader, I prefer to read my books in the comfort of my own reading chair or windowsill)
Next is the challenge Read about a character that is very different form you. For this one I picked the book The Hate You Give. This book is mainly focussed on racism and police brutality. Two things I have personally never had to deal with.
The last challenge is to Read seven books. Now if you can count at all, you can see that there are less than seven books on my TBR, that’s because I’m really not sure if I can read seven books in a week. If I manage to read all the books on my TBR within the week I will definitely pick some other ones up to try and beat this last challenge, but I might only read four. Guess we’ll find out in my wrap up…
Are you participating in the booktube-a-thon? What book is high on your TBR?
