I wanna start a new series of sorts in which I tell you about the past month. Books I’ve read, music I listened to, places I visited and anything else I feel like sharing. This month I will share the books I read and my thoughts on them. And my favourite bullet journal pages of the month. So let’s start by discussing the reading I did in February 🙂
review: szen zone by Gary Szenderski
Title: Szen Zone: Reaching a State of Positive Change
Author: Gary Szenderski
Release date: December 10th, 2015
Publisher: Createspace Independent Publishing Platform
Rating: 3.5/5 stars
Disclaimer: I was kindly sent a copy of this book by the author and his publicist Kelsey Butts in exchange for an honest review. This will in no way affect my opinion of the book.
This book had taken me quite a while to get through, mainly because I feel like this is one of those books that needs to be read in small chunks. In my opinion, you should keep this in your bag and just read a chapter when you’re feeling uninspired or unenergized. Szen Zone was very motivational for me.

growing out of ya literature?
Today I really wanted to discuss a topic with you that has been on my mind for a long time: growing out of the Young Adult genre. I have been an avid reader of YA books since I was around 10 or 11 years old. I would even go as far as to say that I didn’t read anything else until about 3 years ago, and even then 90% of what I read was still YA. But lately there has been a HUGE shift in my reading taste. I rarely pick up a YA novel and when I look at the new releases, almost none of them really spark my interest. After mulling this over for a while I realised this had several different reasons.

This little book was gifted to me as a going away present a while back and I was immediately drawn to it. Everything about this book just pulled me towards it. The millennial pink cover with a sleek design, the promise of tips for women in the creative industry. I couldn’t wait to get into it. It took me a day to finish and I am sure I will find myself picking it up again soon.
