review: szen zone by Gary Szenderski

February 27, 2018

Title: Szen Zone: Reaching a State of Positive Change

Author: Gary Szenderski

Release date: December 10th, 2015

Publisher: Createspace Independent Publishing Platform

Rating: 3.5/5 stars

Disclaimer: I was kindly sent a copy of this book by the author and his publicist Kelsey Butts in exchange for an honest review. This will in no way affect my opinion of the book.

This book had taken me quite a while to get through, mainly because I feel like this is one of those books that needs to be read in small chunks. In my opinion, you should keep this in your bag and just read a chapter when you’re feeling uninspired or unenergized. Szen Zone was very motivational for me.

4 Days ’till Christmas: review – The Little Shop of Happy Ever After by Jenny Colgan

December 22, 2017

Title: The Little Shop of Happy Ever After (original title: The Bookshop on the Corner)

Author: Jenny Colgan

Release date: January 11th, 2016

Publisher: Sphere

Rating: 2/5 stars

Things were a bit hectic so sorry we weren’t able to put a post up yesterday. So here is a review to make up for it. We hope to post something else today in order to catch up!

The back of this book states that this is a book for and about readers. It is dedicated to book lovers and readers. This was enough to convince me to buy this book and give it a go. I was, however, extremely let down by this book. The plot sounds absolutely amazing, but it was in my opinion quite poorly executed. Read on to find out why.

I first read this book exactly 5 years ago and I very much disliked I. But since I first read it around Christmas time, I felt nostalgic when the snow started to fall last week and I decided to give it a second chance. And boy am I happy that I did! I loved it this time around! Keep reading to find out my thoughts.

8 Days ’till Christmas: Lotte’s Christmas Playlist

December 17, 2017

What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than by listening to some Christmas tunes? So in this post I will be sharing my absolute festive favourites with you guys, and tell you why I love them so much! Also, I compiled them in a handy-dandy playlist for you guys, in case you want to give them a listen.

1. Fairytale of New York by The Pogues ft. Kirsty MacColl

This is a song I remember from an old mix CD my parents used to play at Christmas time, so it’s mostly on here for nostalgic reasons.

2. All I Want For Christmas is You by Mariah Carey

No holiday playlist is complete without a bit of Mariah Carey. It’s a classic. What more can I say?

3. Last Christmas by Wham!

Same as the previous track. This song is an absolute classic and I can’t not listen to this during December (or November for that matter).

4. Twelve Pains of Christmas by Bob Rivers

This is another one of those songs that give me nostalgic vibes. My parents had very interesting mix CD’s haha.

5. Christmas by Michael Bublé

Michael Bublé’s entire Christmas album is my JAM! I have been listening to it for about two months straight now… No regrets.

6. Merry Christmas, Kiss My Ass by All Time Low

Not really a traditional Christmas song, but I still love listening to it during the festive season.

7. Do They Know It’s Christmas? By Band Aid 30 / 1984

I love both the original version of this song as well as the 2014 re-make. But the one that I listen to most is the 2014 version (it has One Direction and Ed Sheehan, can you blame me?).

8. Merry Christmas Everyone by Shakin’ Stevens

Last but not least, I feel like this is also a bit of a classic. It gives just enough Christmas feels.

I am gonna keep it at 8 songs (or really 7 songs and an entire album…). I’ll just put them on repeat this season until everyone around me gets sick of it. And then I’ll still continue.

What other Christmas tunes should be on my playlist? Let me know!

Lots of Love,

Lotte
