review: one of us is lying by karen m. mcmanus

November 5, 2020

title: One of Us Is Lying

author: Karen M. McManus

release date: june 1st, 2017

publisher: Penguin

rating: 4/5

I’ve been feeling so slumpy lately and this was a classic case of the right book at exactly the right time! The last couple of books that I read were not very happy-go-lucky (not that this one is necessarily…) so this was quite a fun change of pace.

July 28, 2020

Soooo… The Reading Rush has ended and those of you who follow me on Instagram will probably have seen all my stories. Long story short, The Reading Rush was a massive success for me! I switched one book on my TBR, but did manage to read seven books and complete all seven challenges!

The Reading Rush 2020 TBR

July 19, 2020

It’s that time of year again! The Reading Rush is a readathon happening from July 20 – July 26 and it’s the perfect excuse to do nothing else but read for a full week. The last time I participated in this readathon it was still called the booktube-a-thon, yes I’m old. And lately I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump with everything that’s going on in the world right now… So I’m hoping this week of reading will get me back into the swing of things.

I first read this book exactly 5 years ago and I very much disliked I. But since I first read it around Christmas time, I felt nostalgic when the snow started to fall last week and I decided to give it a second chance. And boy am I happy that I did! I loved it this time around! Keep reading to find out my thoughts.

Review: Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater

April 2, 2017

Title: Blue Lily, Lily Blue

Author: Maggie Stiefvater

Release date: March 4th, 2015

Publisher: Scolastic Press

Warning: Since this is the third book in The Raven Cycle, there will be (minor) spoilers for the previous books in this review. Don’t read this review if you have not read The Raven Boys and The Dream Thieves (If you have only read the first book then you could check out my review of The Dream Thieves here).

I started reading this book the minute I put The Dream Thieves down (thank God I already had the entire series on my shelf cause the previous book ended with a pretty good cliffhanger).

Review: The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater

February 26, 2017

Title: The Dream Thieves

Author: Maggie Stiefvater

Release date: September 17th, 2013

Publisher: Scolastic Press

Rating: 4/5 stars

Warning: Since this is the second book in The Raven Cycle, there will be (minor) spoilers for the first book in this review. Don’t read this review if you have not read The Raven Boys.

I picked this book up almost right after I finished reading The Raven Boys (this was at the beginning of July, last year), but I didn’t manage to get very far. After that, I kept picking it up and putting it down because I just wasn’t in the mood for it. But a couple of days ago I decided to give it another try and boy, am I happy that I did.
